The toddler room is housed within a demountable building that is shared with babies, the entrance uses a biometric system to give the utmost security. There is a cloakroom for children to hang their coats and bags, a large area for crafts, messy activities and water play; this area is also used for meals and snacks.
There is a large carpeted area which is used for imaginative play, group times and exploration. The children have access to resources and equipment which is changed regularly throughout the day. The staff plan a variety of activities using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to keep the children interested and motivated throughout the day.
In one corner of the room is a cosy area with soft furnishings that is used for stories, quiet times and sleep. All children who need to sleep are provided with their own sleep mat and bedding.
The toddler room has access to an outside play area with safety matting and a variety of toys. The staff also take the children for walks and to the local park.
